Everyone is missing the obvious point here, which is that there is now a key to your fairly distinctive car floating around that dealership somewhere. And they probably know where you live. If the dealer can't find the key, I would hit them up for a new lock set (some of which come with Titanium keys, as I recall), stating that you are worried about the security of your car now that a key is missing. By the way, from your post it sounds like you went in to have the dealer do some free diagnosis without ever intending to have them go through with the repair. So you said "heeeeallll, NO!" and yanked some business away from them. And now the service department "lost" your key. Were you polite and courteous, or did you give the guys in the service department a reason to hate you? -John P
